FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is the Hydration IV really worth $130?

For pure rehydration delivered to your door in 35 minutes, yes. A single ER visit for dehydration averages $1,200 to $2,500, and a clinic infusion typically runs $150 to $250 before adding the time cost of driving and waiting. At $130 with a licensed RN at your location and NP oversight included, this is the most efficient way to fix dehydration outside of a hospital.

How is this different from drinking electrolytes or Pedialyte?

Oral hydration has to pass through your stomach and intestines, which slows absorption and loses a significant fraction to GI processing. When you are already dehydrated, nauseated, or hungover, that pathway is even less efficient. IV saline delivers 100 percent of the fluid and electrolytes directly into your bloodstream, which is why people feel the difference within minutes rather than hours.

Why does this take 35 minutes?

A liter of saline drips in at a rate your veins handle comfortably. Pushing it faster can cause flushing, chest tightness, or fluid overload in some patients. Thirty-five minutes is the clinical sweet spot where you get full absorption without side effects, and it gives the mineral blend time to distribute properly.

Can I get the Hydration IV regularly?

Yes. Many of our clients use it weekly during summer training blocks, after travel, or around big events. Healthy adults tolerate weekly or even twice-weekly hydration IVs without issue. If you want to go more frequently than that, we will have the NP weigh in to make sure it fits your situation.

What if I have never had an IV before?

You are in good hands. Our RNs do this every day, and most first-timers tell us the stick was easier than a routine blood draw. We walk you through every step, you stay seated or lying down the whole time, and your nurse is with you for the full 35 minutes. If you are anxious about needles, tell us when you book and we will plan accordingly.

Do you accept insurance?

Mobile IV therapy is typically not covered by insurance, and Ians IV is no exception. We do accept HSA and FSA cards, cash, and all major credit cards. Many clients use their HSA or FSA to cover treatments, which effectively makes the cost pre-tax.

Why Ians IV for Your Hydration IV?

Licensed RNs, not technicians

Every IV is started by a Registered Nurse with hospital experience. That means cleaner sticks, faster placement, and a clinician who knows what to do if anything ever feels off.

Nurse Practitioner oversight on every bag

An NP reviews and authorizes your treatment before it is administered. You are getting medically supervised care at home, not a wellness service operating in a gray zone.

Same-day, at your door

Book in the morning, treat in the afternoon. We come to your home, hotel, office, or event location anywhere we serve, with all supplies sealed and sterile.

Who Books a Hydration IV?

The morning-after professional.

You had two glasses of wine that turned into five. You have a 9 a.m. meeting you cannot reschedule, and Pedialyte is not closing the gap. A liter of saline with electrolytes pushes past the gut, hits your bloodstream directly, and clears the fog in roughly the time it takes to shower and answer email. This is the most common reason people text us before noon.

The endurance athlete after a hot session.

You finished a long ride, a half marathon, or a back-to-back training day, and oral fluids alone are not putting you back together. Sodium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium delivered IV bypass GI absorption and replace what you sweated out at the cellular level. Recovery that would have taken 24 to 48 hours compresses into the same afternoon. You sleep better and wake up actually ready to train again.

The traveler stepping off a long flight.

Cabin air sits around 10 to 20 percent humidity, which is drier than most deserts. After a transcontinental or international flight, you are running a fluid deficit on top of jet lag and disrupted sleep. A Hydration IV at your hotel or home rehydrates you in 35 minutes so you can actually enjoy day one instead of sleeping through it.

The post-illness recoverer.

You are 48 hours past a stomach bug or a bad cold. The fever broke, but you cannot keep enough fluids down to feel normal, and your energy is still on the floor. IV rehydration restores plasma volume without asking your stomach to do work it is not ready for. Most clients are back to baseline within hours of the bag finishing.

The bride, groom, or birthday host the morning of.

You have one shot at today. You did not sleep well, you barely ate, and you have eight hours of photos, hugs, and standing ahead of you. Thirty-five minutes with us at the venue or hotel suite, and you are hydrated, color back in your face, ready to be present. We do this for wedding parties almost every weekend.

Full Ingredients Breakdown

NameWhat It Does
Normal Saline (1L, 0.9% Sodium Chloride)This is a full liter of sterile, isotonic saline matched to the salt concentration of your blood, which means it absorbs at 100 percent bioavailability the moment it enters your vein. Oral hydration loses a significant fraction to GI processing and pulls slowly into circulation. IV saline restores plasma volume, blood pressure, and tissue hydration immediately, which is why you feel the shift before the bag is even finished.
Mineral and Electrolyte Blend (sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium)Dehydration is rarely just a water problem. Sweat, alcohol, illness, and travel all strip electrolytes that your nerves and muscles need to fire correctly. This blend replaces the four minerals most commonly depleted: sodium for fluid retention, potassium for cardiac and muscle function, magnesium for muscle relaxation and headache relief, and calcium for nerve signaling. Together they are the reason a Hydration IV actually fixes the symptoms, not just the thirst.
